Hello, I'm Mat. I think up things. I write things. A whole lot of things, actually. And I've been busy doing that for over a decade.

Big ideas. Brand stories. Campaigns. Taglines. Tone of voice. Social posts. Emails. The occasional sentence that takes 29 attempts to get just right.

I love working on the big stuff – the core concept, the campaign, the key messaging. But also the more thoughtful stuff that makes brands stand out – defining what they stand for, giving them a personality, and figuring out how to make that come through in every word.

I've worked everywhere from traditional ad agencies and design and branding consultancies to customer engagement specialists and in-house creative teams. Which means I've faced pretty much every kind of creative challenge, from ATL, CRM and social campaigns to product descriptions, direct response and brand communications.

I've also written for brands across an eclectic mix of industries, from financial services and FMCG to travel and telecoms.
